A word from our President…..

Hello Calgary-Buffalo NDPers!

Since our last newsletter a lot has happened! We had an incredible series of Stampede breakfasts, with thousands of folks coming out to say howdy and show their support for our new leader, Naheed Nenshi and the Alberta NDP.

A big thank you to all the people who came out to our Happy Hour Social, and to everyone who has helped grow the Calgary-Buffalo NDP by making phone calls, attending meetings and signing up to volunteer! Back To School Social with Naheed Nenshi

We are still riding high after electing Naheed Nenshi as the new leader of Alberta’s New Democrats, and to build on this momentum we are cordially inviting you to meet Naheed at our free, family-friendly ice cream social! Join members and supporters on Sunday, September 8 from 12:30-2:30.

Wordfest

As the NDP Critic for Arts and Culture, I’m pleased to support the upcoming Wordfest event with Alex Sarian. Alex is the President and CEO of Arts Commons and will be promoting his new book, The Audacity of Relevance: Critical Conversations on the Future of Arts and Culture.

The redevelopment of Arts Commons will transform Olympic Plaza and see a new cultural space built beside Teatro restaurant in the heart of downtown Calgary. Phase II will see the refurbishment of the Arts Commons building. Alex has been leading the charge for this exciting cultural change.
