A Message from your Calgary-Buffalo President, Kelly Bailly

Dear friends,

I’m thrilled to introduce myself as the newly elected President of the Calgary-Buffalo NDP Constituency Association. I was honoured to be elected to this role earlier in 2025, and I’m incredibly excited to serve our vibrant and engaged community.

A bit about me: I’m a born and raised Calgarian, and while I spent several years exploring other parts of Canada and attending university in Montreal, I’m proud to call Calgary home. I’ve lived in Ramsay for over a decade and have been involved in grassroots organizing and progressive advocacy for many years. With two young(ish) kids, I’m deeply passionate about building a province where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Whether it’s fighting for public health care, climate action, or affordability, I believe in the power of community to drive meaningful change.

As we head into summer, our Constituency Association is gearing up for a season of connection, organizing, and action. I hope to meet many of you at our upcoming events—whether it’s out doorknocking, at the NDP hosted Stampede breakfast, a community BBQ, or a volunteer gathering.

I am thrilled to work alongside a fantastic group of engaged volunteers here in Calgary-Buffalo. We’ll be hitting the doors over 30 times this summer, making calls and attending events, and we can’t do it without your support! If you haven’t already heard from our wonderful volunteer coordinator Mel and want to get involved, please respond to this email and we’d be happy to get you going, or sign up for a shift here!

Thank you for your support, your energy, and your belief in a better Alberta. Let’s keep building it—together.

In solidarity,
Kelly Bailly

A Message From Joe

Dear friends and neighbours,

As the spring session of the Alberta Legislature comes to a close, I want to thank you for your continued support and trust. Representing Calgary-Buffalo is a privilege, and I’m proud of the work we’ve done together to push for a more just, compassionate, and transparent Alberta.

This session, our Alberta NDP caucus worked tirelessly to hold the UCP government to account and to bring forward the priorities that matter most to you—strong public services, economic fairness, and integrity in government.

One of the most troubling issues we confronted was the growing scandal surrounding Alberta Health Services contracts. Revelations about an Edmonton businessman whose companies secured over $600 million in health contracts have raised serious concerns about political interference, conflicts of interest, and misuse of public funds

This is not just about contracts—it’s about trust. Albertans deserve a health care system that puts patients first, not political insiders. I will continue to demand transparency, accountability, and a full public inquiry into this scandal.

On a more hopeful note, I’m looking forward to a summer filled with community connection. Whether it’s at a Stampede breakfast, a local BBQ, or a neighbourhood meeting, I’m excited to hear from you directly and work together on the issues that matter most.

Let’s keep building a Calgary—and an Alberta—that reflects our shared values of fairness, inclusion, and integrity.

Wishing you a safe and joyful summer!

In solidarity,

Joe
